Wild Azalea Walk at Tsutsujigahara Nature Trail (June)(つつじヶ原の散策)

Ezo-iso-tsutsuji is a native wild azalea plant otherwise known as marsh tea. This robust plant endures in the acidic soil and sulfurous air at the base of the volcano, Mt.Iozan, and bloom annually, peaking in June. A local guide will lead you on an early morning stroll through the beautiful white blossoms with their powerful herbaceous scent.
